What is the NSF CISE REU Site PI Meeting 2020?

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Computer Information Science and Engineering (CISE) funds Research for Undergraduate Experiences (REU) sites across the nation. The REU Site PI Meeting 2020 will facilitate an open discussion forum among seasoned PIs, new PIs, and NSF CISE REU program officers on the state-of-practice of running succesful REU sites.

Who is the meeting aimed at?

This meeting is aimed at Principal Investigators (PI) of the active CISE-funded REU Sites , the PIs' teams, and the REU Program Officers.

Who is the meeting not for?

This meeting is not open to those simply interested in preparing a proposal to the REU site program, nor those interested in applying for REU supplements.

How is the meeting sponsored?

The meeting is sponsored by NSF, however meeting participants will have to cover their own travel expenses to this meeting from their NSF REU Site award budget.

Where will the meeting take place?

The meeting will take place in Chicago Illinois, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. We have secured a discounted nightly rate of $209 for the dates of the meeting. The cutoff date for the discounted hotel rate is April 2nd, 2020. Please make your reservations early to ensure a room in the meeting hotel.

When will the meeting take place?

The program will span three days, from Wednesday April 29th 2020 to Friday May 1st 2020. The activities will start in the evening with registration at 5PM CST on Wednesday followed by a reception/dinner until 9PM, continue all day on Thursday from 7:30AM to 9PM, and end on the third day Friday with a program from 7:30AM to 3PM.
